The Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) has been an active and highly visible part of the Monterey Peninsula community. Since our beginning in 1957 when 62 local companies and scores of individuals offered their services and donations to make Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca a reality, SCRAMP has been a community effort.
As a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization, SCRAMP donates proceeds to local charities and civic organizations. We have grown from presenting a single motorsport event each year to producing five major events that have recently included the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, Porsche Rennsport Reunion, MotoGP, Ferrari Racing Days, eni FIM Superbike World Championship, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and the SCCA National Championship Runoffs, among many more.
Originally part of the former Fort Ord military base, Laguna Seca was turned over to the County of Monterey in 1974, and designated the overall management responsibility to the Monterey County Parks Department. SCRAMP operates and maintains the race track and manages the racing events and track rentals that generate more than $1 million annually for the county parks department.
The SCRAMP “family” consists of thousands of volunteers, including a volunteer board of directors. These dedicated volunteers come from all walks of life and across the tri-county area to make up the work force needed to stage motorsports events at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The largest group of volunteers is comprised of more than 70 charities and civic organizations whose membership numbers in the thousands.
SCRAMP includes a paid professional staff who handle the day-to-day operations.

The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion will celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the most recognizable road racing cars of the ‘60s – the Shelby GT350 Mustang – as the 2015 featured marque August 13-16, 2015 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
The Shelby GT350 Mustang came onto the scene just one year after the Ford Mustang debuted. Ford Motor Company, already having success with Carroll Shelby in the Cobra program, enlisted Shelby to make the new Mustang competitive. And together they did, winning three consecutive SCCA national championships in its maiden years.
What: Porsche Rennsport Reunion V will be the world’s greatest gathering of Porsche race cars and the drivers who drove them to victory. Hosted by Porsche Cars North America, it will showcase the widest variety of Porsche’s most historic racing models, from the nimble 550 Spyder of the mid-’50s through the mighty 917 and 956/962 of the ’70s and ’80s to the highly successful RS Spyder of the last decade.
Last held in 2011, Porsche Rennsport Reunion is nirvana for not only Porsche enthusiasts, but everyone interested in motorsports and automobile history. A special Porsche Concours will also be held that presents some of the finest road-going Porsches in one location.
What: The eni FIM Superbike World Championship, GEICO Motorcycle U.S. Round features international riders, teams and manufacturers racing high-performance bikes very similar to the ones right off the showroom floor.

What: The tradition of memorable sports car racing continues at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix powered by Mazda featuring the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
The TUDOR United SportsCar Championship is America’s premier road racing series and is entering its second season with ferocity and international driving stars. For fans, the racing is non-stop as there are two styles of cars competing: Prototype and GT (Grand Touring). Each style also has two classes, Pro and Pro-Am for a race within a race.
What: Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Classic Car Week, and is the only event where cars are doing what they were originally intended to do…race. Approximately 550 race cars are invited to compete in the world’s premier motoring event, and are accepted based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness.
The event relives motorsport history at the iconic circuit, which has been the scene of America’s golden years of sports car racing since its inception in 1957. In addition to the entertaining on-track action, there are always engaging autograph opportunities with legendary drivers, Q&A sessions, and fine wine and cheese tastings among the myriad of activities.
