Statement from Gill Campbell, CEO/General Manager, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on the passing of Henny Ray Abrams:
The Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca family was deeply saddened to hear today of the passing of Henny Ray Abrams and we send our love, support and prayers to staff of Cycle News, his family and friends at this difficult time. He had become a personal friend as well as a welcome fixture in our media center. Henny will never be forgotten for many, many reasons and for all the ways that he affected our lives.
HMSA members are dedicated to the restoration, preservation and racing of historic race cars. These events are true race meetings comprised of practice sessions and races. Run groups are arranged by speed potential and age of the cars entered for a particular event. Although wheel to wheel racing is common, drivers are encouraged to respect the historic value of the machines.
The hallmarks of a typical HMSA club event are non-spectator, exclusive, semi-competitive with nothing to be won except great experiences, plenty of track time and the camaraderie of fellow members
