Monthly Twilight Ride Scheduled for June 15th

Just before the full moon rises in the sky, cyclists will take to the track at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Velo Club Monterey hosts this month’s Twilight Ride Wednesday, June 15th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per rider and the rides/races are always informal. A two lap time trial will be the evening’s competition event.

Riders can experience the thrill of pedaling Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as the race track includes a challenging 300-foot climb and an awe-inspiring descent down the world-famous Corkscrew.

“The monthly Twilight Rides offer a relaxed environment for cyclists of all skill levels to get out and experience our breathtaking 11 turn 2.238 mile course,” said Ann Bixler, vice president event operations of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was established in 1957. The world-renowned raceway has been operated since its inception by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), a not-for-profit 501c(4) corporation. Each race season, SCRAMP donates its net proceeds to the volunteer groups that help put on the races.

Additional 2011 Twilight Rides are scheduled for July 20, August 10, September 14, October 19, November 16 and December 7.
