Dates for the 2018 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion have been moved one week later from their traditional third weekend to August 23-26, 2018. The 2018 United States Amateur Championship returns to Pebble Beach the week prior, thereby prompting the move.
The Monterey Pre-Reunion will be held the same weekend as the golf championship, which is August 18-19, 2018.
“We coordinate closely with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance to ensure everyone who visits the beautiful Monterey Peninsula has the experience one expects of a world-class host city,” said Gill Campbell, general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “We want to ensure our participants and guests know the dates well in advance in order to plan their visit accordingly.”
The annual gathering features 550 historic and period-correct race cars from nearly every era competing on the 2.238-mile road course. Akin to a museum revving to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion celebrates motorsport history for four full racing days for fans’ enjoyment. The seven-person Governing Committee pores over each car prior to its acceptance to ensure its authenticity and race pedigree.
The Monterey Classic Car Week attracts an international clientele of participants, automobile enthusiasts, sponsors and journalists who descend on the Central Coast for the myriad of activities that are highlighted by the two founding cornerstones, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
