Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula Elects 2011 Board
Volunteers Steer Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
The Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), the not-for-profit organization that operates major racing events at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, announced the officers for the 2011 season.
SCRAMP officers for 2011 are Dean Fewtrell of Salinas as president, Kathy Hayworth of Del Rey Oaks as vice president of administration, James Alit of Manteca as vice president of operations, Lee Shepherd of Monterey as treasurer, Gregg Curry of Carmel Valley as secretary and Ken Lofink of Monterey will serve in the position of past president.
President Fewtrell has been with SCRAMP since 2002, first as an assistant director, then as director, treasurer, vice president and was voted in as President in 2010. This will be his second term. He has served as president for many organizations and brings over 25 years of business leadership experience to the organization.
Newly elected to the SCRAMP board are Dave Kamlan and Henry Simpson. Kamlan has been an Assistant Director for 15 years working with the Medical committee. Kamlan worked as an EMT/Firefighter for Carmel Fire as well as an EMT for AMR both in Monterey County and later as a paramedic for 13 years in Richmond, Calif. He is a Project Manager in Clinical Affairs for ZOLL Circulation, a medical device company in Sunnyvale.
Henry Simpson has been an Assistant Director with Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for three years in the IT department. He is the Director of Technology Support Services for CSUMB and is responsible for 4300 students IT needs and a staff of 22 at CSUMB.
In addition to the officers, the 2011 SCRAMP Board of Directors is comprised of Carl Anderson, Jim Coldwell, George Covell, Dennis Farber, Doug Finch, Tom Kincheloe, Dan Lee, Harlan Lee, Ed Magner, Gregg McWilliams, Mark Mendoza, Allen Mulholland, Ginger Mutoza, Carlos Noreiga, Joe Prospero, Carl Schumaker, Jim Sula and Dr. Richard Weiss.
The 26 Directors that make up the Board are all volunteers and as a group, they oversee all aspects of the organization. Each Director heads an event committee(s) that puts on the race weekends at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
