Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s First Twilight Ride of 2011
January 19 from 4-6 p.m.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s goal with its monthly Twilight Rides is to create a safe, fun place to ride for cyclists of all ages and skills. The season kicks-off with its first ride for 2011 on January 19 from 4-6 p.m. For only $10 per rider, cyclists will have the opportunity to go where racing legends typically speed by. The rides are informal, helmets are required, and the track will be open to recreational cyclists throughout the entire time.
The raceway’s counter clockwise course has an elevation range of 749 ft. – 929 ft. with the track width ranging from 30 ft – 50 ft. It is completely free of motorized traffic.
Light & Motion will be at the Twilight Ride to assist those with bike lights to borrow for the Twilight Ride. Light & Motion has been pioneering state-of-the-art portable lighting systems for 20 years. In 2008 they launched a line of LED bicycle lights, the lightest, brightest and most reliable lights available worldwide, which are designed and built right here on the Monterey Peninsula.
The additional dates for the 2011 Twilight Rides will be February 16, March 16, April 12, May 18, June 15, July 20, August 10, September 14, October 19, November 16 and December 14. The April ride will be on the Tuesday before the Sea Otter Classic providing cyclists valuable track time to preview the course before the weekend’s races.
