Entry Requests Open for Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion
Chevrolet Corvette is Featured Marque August 16-18, 2013
Upwards of 1,000 entry requests are expected from vintage race car owners who are interested in participating in the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, August 16-18, 2013 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. America’s premier historic car race pairs legendary cars with the legendary circuit amid the festive atmosphere of Monterey Classic Car Week.
Sixteen run groups ranging from early pre-war cars up to more modern-day early ‘90s GTO cars have been established by the Governing Committee. Each car accepted will be based on its authenticity, race provenance and the historical accuracy of its mechanical preparation and livery. This is a distinguishing hallmark of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which adheres to a strict code of authenticity.
This year’s featured marque celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette, which has steadfastly retained its recognition as America’s sports car. Thousands of Corvette enthusiasts will descend on the Monterey Peninsula to commemorate the occasion and to participate in the racing, Corvette Corral, parade laps and all the celebrations associated with the time-honored Chevrolet Corvette marque.
Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, says, “The crème de la crème of motor racing’s history will fill the paddock. And with the addition of Chevrolet celebrating Corvette, this year will be a remarkable one that will surely complete the full sensory experience.”
