Donate Three Canned Items and Receive a Free Ticket to American Le Mans Monterey
In a desire to help raise the community’s spirits this holiday season, the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), operators of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, is again partnering with the Salvation Army Monterey Peninsula in hosting the annual holiday food and toy drive.
For every three non-perishable, non-expired food items or brand new unwrapped toy donated at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the donator will receive one Friday general admission ticket to the 2013 American Le Mans Monterey sports car race on May 10, 2013. Expired food items will not be accepted, and only one ticket per person will be provided.
The food and toy drive lasts through December 8. Last year, the Salvation Army Monterey Peninsula provided food to more than 6,250 area residents and donated 10,000 new toys to deserving children.
Among the canned or boxed items most in need for the holidays are stuffing, yams, brown sugar, cranberry sauce, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, chicken broth and gravy.
The gift items are being received at the SCRAMP main office and Souvenir Store, located in the race paddock. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is located at 1021 Highway 68, across from the SPCA.
“This is the time of year everyone should pull together to help our neighbors in need,” comments Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “And if we can help encourage donations by providing an incentive reward to individuals donating, then even better.”
