Activity Abounds at Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix
The Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix featuring the MotoGP World Championship July 27-29 offers a variety of off-track action to complement the competition of world premier motorcycle racing.
Throughout the weekend there will be live music, rider Q&As and autograph sessions, stunt shows and plenty of kids activities including demo rides, the Strider Cup Adventure Zone and MY Museum’s Wheelie Mobilee in the family-friendly Yamaha Marketplace.
MotoGP is an eighteen-race series visiting 15 countries, four continents and with global television coverage. Nine nationalities of the world’s most skilled riders line a grid armed with cutting edge motorcycle technology with prototype machinery fielded by three manufacturers: Yamaha, Ducati and Honda.
No other road course in the U.S. challenges these world champion riders with such a dynamic, heart pounding combination of 11 turns, dramatic elevation changes of up to 300 feet and the plunging blind Corkscrew turn that drops an equivalent of 5 1/2 stories.
This is the eighth consecutive year at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, bringing with it ample entertaining fan activities. Some highlights include:
Wednesday, July 25
Twilight Cycling presented by Rabobank (5:30-7:30 p.m.) allows
cyclists to experience the excitement of pedaling their own bike
on Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s world famous race track. Helmets

Racing riders are expected to join in on the fun.
Thursday, July 26
For just $500, $375 of which is tax-deductable, fans can get in
on one of the coolest events of the week, the Day of Stars. The
unique experience includes a motorcycle tour of Carmel Valley
wine country, a catered lunch at the track with Grand Prix legend
Randy Mamola and MotoGP stars, a tour of the paddock and the
chance to ride the track.
A portion of the day is free and open to the public, the exciting Day of Stars Auction, which begins at 4 p.m. at Turn Four. MotoGP riders visit to sign and auction off riding gear, photographs, t-shirts, books, and other memorabilia to raise funds for Riders for Health. The auction will include extraordinary experiences such as a pace car ride or the chance to stand on the grid just before the start of the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.
Riders for Health is an international non-profit organization that provides healthcare workers in Africa with the training and transportation they need to reach rural villages with essential healthcare services.
