2011 XDL Series
2011 marks the debut of a new attraction to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix weekend (July 22-24), The XDL Championship.
XDL is a two-day event where the world’s top street freestyle riders, both men and women, contend in six different competitions. The Wheelie Teach Wheelie Race, the K&N Circle Challenge and the Racing 905 Speed & Style Showdown are all head-to-head competitions combining various racing and freestyle skills. The Sartso Women’s Cup and the FMF Cup represent the women’s and men’s national championship, respectively. Contestants are competing for $10,000 in prize money and a national championship. The level of execution and the pressure make for a phenomenal experience. The finale Saturday is the Stuntride Sickest Trick, where the athletes have one minute to pull out all the stops and perform any kind of trick. At the end of each day ticket holders can step on to the competition area to pose for photos with the athletes and get autographs.
The XDL Championship venue is The Depot Parking Lot, located off Del Monte Boulevard, between Wharf 2 and Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey. Tickets are on sale now at www.xdlshow.com. Friday general admission is $10, unreserved bleachers are $15. Saturday general admission is $20 and unreserved bleachers are $25. Kids 12 and under are FREE. Seats are limited. The event will be held rain or shine.
