The Sept. 7 Twilight Cycling event is a two-hour, two-wheeled opportunity to ride side-by-side at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with many of the top up-and-coming Mazda-powered drivers in the country.

The California Custom Sheds Cycling Team and Bay Bikes will host the ride which begins at 5:30 p.m. Bay Bikes will be on hand with demo bikes and helmets, as well as provide minor maintenance. The entry fee is $10 and a helmet is required.

The season finale for the Mazda Road to Indy, the stepping stones that lead directly to the Indianapolis 500, comes to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Sept. 9-11. Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires, Pro Mazda Presented by Cooper Tires, and Cooper Tires USF2000 Powered by Mazda are the three open-wheel competition rungs that make up the Mazda Road to Indy. Those series will be joined by the Mazda Prototype Lites Presented by Cooper Tires and the inaugural Global Mazda MX-5 Cup Invitational to create a true Mazdapalooza weekend.

Activities will include a coasting race from the top of The Corkscrew to as far down the track as riders can go without pedaling. All club proceeds from the event will go to Take A Kid Mountain Bike Day on Sat., Oct. 1.  For more information, visit www.morcamtb.org/tkmbd and be sure to “Like” the California Custom Sheds Cycling Team Facebook page HERE. Be sure to stick around after the ride for some refreshments and BBQ (donation appreciated) by the Monterey Off-Road Cycling Association MORCA.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is the perfect place to train hard, ride for fun or do a little of both. There is the 180 feet of overall elevation change to test your stamina and the 18 percent downhill grade at Turn 8A, and overall 10-story drop between Turns 8 and 9, to test your determination. Throw in the spectacular rural Monterey County landscape, which is covered in green at this time of the year, and you have the perfect recipe for a great early evening of fun and exercise.

Tickets for Mazda Road to Indy and the Oct. 7-9 Pirelli World Challenge are on sale now. Click HERE for ticket information or call the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Ticket Office at 831.242.8200.
