The mighty Maseratis in 2014

For the caretakers of period-correct historic race cars, November 17 will likely now be marked on their calendars, as it is the opening day entry requests can be submitted to compete in the annual Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion August 13-16, 2015 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The entry request process continues through January 31, 2015 and is conducted exclusively online at www.MazdaRaceway.com. Each year, upwards of 900 submissions arrive from across the country and internationally, with the owners’ hoping to be one of the 550 cars accepted. The opening of the entry process coincides with the formal announcement of the 2015 featured marque.

Each car accepted will be based on its authenticity, race provenance and the historical accuracy of its mechanical preparation and livery. This is a distinguishing hallmark of the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which adheres to a strict code of authenticity.

The race groups for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion are:

Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, says, “Motor racing history will fill the paddock through remarkable cars that bear historical significance. It is a time-consuming process for the Governing Committee to evaluate each application and then narrow the invitations down to 550 amazing cars.”

As the largest event of the Monterey Classic Car Week, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion relives motorsport history at the iconic circuit, which has been the scene of America’s golden years of sports car racing since its inception in 1957. In addition to the continuous on-track action, there are engaging autograph and Q&A sessions with legendary drivers, fine wine and cheese tastings, and shopping among the myriad of activities for guests to enjoy.
