With the inaugural race of 2014 firmly cemented, the riders, teams and manufacturers have a little time before Round 2 in Aragon, Spain comes charging into their sights. This round (2) really sets the tone for the grueling season ahead for these international athletes as racing with the eni FIM Superbike World Championship kicks into high gear.
In honor of National Military Appreciation Month (May) Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be offering FREE general admission to all active military who attend the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix, powered by Mazda in uniform on Saturday May 3, 2014.
“It is a fitting tribute to the men, women and families who serve our country,” says Gill Campbell, CEO and general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “And for many of our veterans, it will be a kind of homecoming as our race circuit has long been a fabric of Fort Ord history where many service men and women were stationed.”
Thunder will be reverberating among the Monterey hillsides as two fan-favorite groups—historic Trans-Am cars from the pony war era of 1966-1972 and the powerful 1963-1974 Can-Am cars—compete at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion August 14-17, 2014.
As road racing fans prepare for the inaugural running of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship May 2-4 at the world-renowned race track, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and Continental Tire agree to continue the successful partnership they began in 2011.
The Eni FIM Superbike World Championship, USA Round features riders, teams and manufacturers racing high-performance bikes very similar to the ones right off the showroom floor.
There is plenty of nail-biting racing to enjoy with two races during the weekend. This is the one chance to see these international riders, as it is the series’ only visit to the United States. Approximately 25 riders line up on the starting grid, making for an entertaining field and hard-fought battle for the lead at every turn.

The Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is one of the most popular one-make series, in part because it brings together complete track novices and those who already have competition experience. The former have their own Coppa Shell with a separate classification and final title, while the latter race in the Trofeo Pirelli, also with a title up for grabs, so as to avoid a one-sided contest and assure a good show, from expert competitors racing at a very high level, as well as gentleman drivers who can thus compete on equal terms.
The Ferrari Challenge returns to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with three full days of racing where fans can see the swift and exotic Ferrari 458 Challenge cars attacking the technically-demanding 11-turn road course. The series allows Ferrari owners the opportunity to compete wheel-to-wheel while providing Ferrari enthusiasts and motorsport fans the chance to watch the Prancing Horse run in its natural environment – the race track.
