The Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) has been an active and highly visible part of the Monterey Peninsula community. Since our beginning in 1957 when 62 local companies and scores of individuals offered their services and donations to make Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca a reality, SCRAMP has been a community effort.
As a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization, SCRAMP donates proceeds to local charities and civic organizations. We have grown from presenting a single motorsport event each year to producing five major events, including the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, Ferrari Racing Days, eni FIM Superbike World Championship, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion and SCCA National Championship Run Offs.
Originally part of the former Fort Ord military base, Laguna Seca was turned over to the County of Monterey in 1974. The County designated the overall management responsibility to the Monterey County Parks Department. SCRAMP operates and maintains the race track and manages the racing events and track rentals that generate more than $1 million annually for the county parks department.
The SCRAMP “family” consists of thousands of volunteers, including a volunteer board of directors. These dedicated volunteers come from all walks of life and across the tri-county area to make up the work force needed to stage motorsports events at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The largest group of volunteers is comprised of more than 70 charities and civic organizations whose membership numbers in the thousands.
SCRAMP includes a paid professional staff who handle the day-to-day operations.

What cyclist wouldn’t enjoy the thrill of a challenging 300-foot climb followed by an awe-inspiring descent? How about the fact that they can do this on a world-renowned race track?
Monthly twilight rides allow cyclists to experience the excitement of pedaling Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s 11-turn, 2.238-mile course. The ride is highlighted by the legendary Corkscrew turn that drops an equivalent of 5 1/2 stories. Rides generally run from 5:30–7:30 p.m. (5-7 p.m. in the winter months), and are open to all levels of cyclists. Helmets are required and the cost is $10 per rider.
Each month is hosted by a different local bicycle club, organization or business, some holding competitions such as time trials or criterium races and many with off-track activities such as barbecue dinners, costume contests and giveaways.
We want to ensure every guest enjoys their experience at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and does so in a safe and fun environment. Please do your part in extending the same courtesies to others attending.
Glass bottles or containers are not allowed at Mazda Raceway
Coolers and non-glass beverage containers are allowed
Bring and use sunscreen regularly
Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water.
Riders of motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles must wear an approved helmet
Bicycles, including mountain bikes, may only be ridden on paved roads and are not allowed in the paddock
Motorized vehicles, bicycles, roller blades or skateboards are not allowed in the Marketplace
Pets are allowed, but with significant restrictions. Pets on a leash are allowed in the campgrounds and parking areas, but not in heavy traffic areas. Pets are not allowed in spectator areas, paddock, grandstands, hillsides or Marketplace
Fireworks are illegal at Mazda Raceway. Anyone caught with fireworks will be cited and expelled
All California Vehicle Code rules and regulations apply while at Mazda Raceway
The RV dump station will open approximately one hour after the last event of the day. Dumping of “gray water” on the ground is prohibited
Only licensed vehicles may be operated on perimeter roads
Quiet hours in the campgrounds are observed between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
No freestanding scaffolding or structures are permitted in the camping areas
The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is a cornerstone of Monterey Peninsula’s Classic Car Week. Only around 550 vehicles will be accepted, based on the car’s authenticity, race provenance and period correctness. Nearly every decade of motorsports history will be represented in what is described as a museum springing to life.
