The Don Chapin Monterey Bay Racing Team (MBRT) will host the Oct. 14 Twilight Cycling ride from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on the historic and iconic 11-turn, 2.238-mile Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca road course.

Now in its sixth year, more than 100 riders typically converge monthly on Mazda Raceway for Twilight Cycling. The Twilight Rides are one of the many community service-oriented programs that SCRAMP and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca conduct throughout the year. The Twilight Rides are open to all ages and skill levels. Activities for the Oct. 14 event will include a timed hill climb.

MBRT was formed in 2005 by a handful of cyclists interested in increasing local participation of bicycle racing in one of the most picturesque areas in the world, the Monterey Bay Area of California. The organization’s mission is to promote the sport of cycling and to advocate safe bicycling practices on all levels of the activity. MBRT strives to encourage interested riders to participate as a team at a competitive level, and to instruct cyclists in safe racing skills and strategies.

Come out and train hard, ride for fun or get creative … hill repeats, a personal best coasting distance down from the famed Corkscrew, or really challenge yourself and see how many laps you can do in two hours’ time.  Take in the amazing views and enjoy what’s sure to be a beautiful sunset, all while riding on the world famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

The next Twilight Cycling ride will take place Wed., Nov. 4, and be hosted by the Monterey Off Road Cycling Association (MORCA), Bay Bikes and Light & Motion.
